The Ag Extension Project welcomes its new COP

The USAID Ag Extension Support Activity (Ag Extension Project) is a USAID Forward project. It is led by a local organization – Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) with technical partners CARE Bangladesh and mPower.

The project has completed three years and stepped into year 4. As such, from inception Dhaka Ahsania Mission and the project has planned and budgeted for a National Chief of Party (COP) to be in place from year 4.

Consequently Mr. Daniel Owen Coster, the foremost COP who led the project for three years handed over the duties to the newly appointed COP who is a Bangladeshi national. Mr. Bidyuth K. Mahalder took over duties from Mr. Coster on October 01, 2015 as the new COP.

Mr. Mahalder brings long 22 years of experiences in diverse fields of agriculture of Bangladesh. He has a bright academic career in agriculture engineering and business management and also has hands on experiences in the senior management position of USAID funded agriculture based projects. He has been serving as the Deputy Chief of Party of the USAID funded CSISA-BD project of IRRI in his last posting. He also served in different relevant government departments in the earlier days of his career.

The project welcomes the new COP and wishes that he would contribute the project’s growth to a great extent.
