Welcome to USAID Agricultural Extension Support Activity

The USAID Agricultural Extension Support Activtity (Ag Extension Project) is implemented by Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) in consortium with CARE Bangladesh and mPower implementing this project. The 5-year project has began on October 23, 2012 and is scheduled to end on October 22, 2017. The project is working in 12 districts in the southwest and central areas of Bangladesh (Barisal, Jessore, and Khulna regions) to support in implementing various capacity building activities and fostering a farmer demand-driven agricultural extension system, synergized by the use of information communication technology (ICT) to improve farmers’ access to quality ag inputs, improved technologies and management practices with access to finance and market opportunities. A key emphasis of the project is to work closely with the Government of Bangladesh also to identify and address the gaps in existing agricultural extension systems and to strengthen the capacity of DAE to deliver effective, innovative and value chain-based extension services, and to provide enhanced support to smallholder farmers – both men and women.
