A day long training on ‘Quality Private Service Delivery by Input Retailers and Service Providers’ was conducted for the private extension agents on crops by the ACI Limited at Barisal on September 20, 2016.
The main purpose of the training was to increase the capacities of the private service providers on improved practices so that they can provide better support to the farmers on crop production technologies.
A total of 44 private extension agents including irrigation, spray and tillage service providers and retailers were present at the training. Four resource persons including the Regional Sales Manager and Senior Marketing Officer of the ACI Field Crops, Regional Sales Manager and Territory Officer of the ACI Formulations Limited, facilitated the training in two batches.
The major topics discussed at the training courses were seed selection, sowing methods, fertilizer application, weed control, irrigation, disease management, insect management and harvesting technologies.
Mr. Ramendra Nath Baroi, Deputy Director, Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE), Barisal, Ms. Sabina Yasmin, Upazila Agriculture Officer, DAE, Barisal and Ms. Meher Malika, Agriculture Extension Officer, DAE, Barisal inaugurated the training.
All the guests at the training session discussed about the importance of the training and also hoped that the retailers and the service providers, with better advisory services, now will be able to provide more supports to the farmers at the field.
